Morning Star Lodge #20 was instituted February 9, 1854. The Lodge met for several years on the second floor of a 48 x 24 foot hillside building located nearby. In 1859 the members erected a new building at 467 Main Street. On May 15, 1910 a fire started in the woodshed behind the County Court House and both buildings were destroyed. Morning Star Lodge #26 was established in 1844 by H. G. Blake. We are a local chapter of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF), an international fraternity that promotes personal and social development through principles of fraternity and community service.
